At the end of every year/beginning of every new year, I like to go back over the previous year and grab my favorite wedding and engagement pictures. The other day, I made a collection of my favorite wedding images of 2016. Today is engagement session day! I have long said that having an engagement session is the single most important thing you can do for your wedding photography. It is a laid back trial run to prepare you for things to come. It gives you an idea of what you like, and sometimes, what you don’t like. We then take that feedback and have a good idea what to focus on for the big day. No, we’re not going to change up our style completely, but if we know you love epic silhouettes and close-ups, but don’t care much for sun flair shots, we’ll take that into account for the big day. Engagement sessions also give us a couple hours to get to know each other better, and talk about the wedding day in more detail. Because we are with you the entire (wedding) day, many couples use us as a resource for planning and getting an idea of what works and what doesn’t.  Think of it as an added bonus! All that being said, engagement sessions are one of my favorite things to do, and I hope that the following images show that.
