I have a fondness for weddings that take place around Christmas. Everyone is generally in a great mood, the family is in town and there’s always that outside chance of some snow. While Justin and Kerry’s Aldie Mansion wedding didn’t have snow, it was just as magical as if it did. Aldie Mansion is the absolute perfect winter wedding backdrop! Laura and I started the day at a nearby hotel where Kerry and Justin were getting ready and then made our way over to the mansion for their first look, wedding party and family pictures, and then just a few of the two of them. Being able to knock out all of the formal pictures early in the day was ideal because by the time the ceremony was over, there was only the faintest blue sky lingering before it was completely dark. After we wrapped things up at the mansion, we made our way over to the church for the ceremony. Not long after the last guests were seated, the ceremony began. Justin and Kerry had a beautiful service, and as it concluded, they were pronounced husband and wife! We made our way back over to Aldie Mansion for cocktail hour and snapped a few more portraits of them before heading in. Everyone had a great time connecting and catching up before heading in to the reception. Justin and Kerry enjoyed a nice first dance, parent dances and then some toasts from a handful of people. After that, the night was filled with dancing, conversations outside by the fire, and good food and drinks. Weddings like this absolutely fly by and before you know it, it’s time for the sparkler sendoff. It was an absolute joy being a part of this special wedding and just as much fun going through their images all over again. Check out some of our favorites below.
