Weddings

Hello? Is anyone out there? Wow- What a whirlwind the past 16 months have been. 2020 Was slashed into pieces in a lot of ways, but now that we’re pulling into a post-covid world, weddings are popping back up and 2021 is looking bananas- in the most amazing way possible. Ross and Emily were slated to get married last year, but had to bump things to this May. Their wedding at The Inn at Leola Village didn’t disappoint and, true story, for as many times as we’ve shot here, there was something unique about this wedding that we absolutely loved and hope to see again. I’ll get to that in a second.

The day started off with the ladies hanging out in the salon and getting their hair and makeup done. When the guys started gathering, Eliza joined them to document their happenings- eating, drinking, billiards, chess, getting dressed, etc. Once everyone was ready and looking their finest, we headed over to the church in downtown Lancaster for the ceremony. It was an absolutely beautiful spring day and the ceremony followed suit. After they tied the knot, we grabbed some group family shots on the front steps of the church and made our way back to The Inn at Leola Village to finish off the rest. Ross and Emily’s wedding party and family were so easy to work with and we were able to transition from formal pictures to couples shots in a breeze. Not long after we wrapped up, cocktail hour started and we began to prep for the reception. Because of the size of the guest list, the entire reception area was taken over by tables so the dance floor was moved into the cocktail hour are- I absolutely loved this. It was the first time in over 25 weddings there that I’ve seen this and it enabled us to capture dancing from the balcony of the bridal suite. I hope other couples do this in the future! The night flew by and after plenty of food, drinks, dancing, conversation and laughter, the celebration came to an end.

This wedding was so much fun to be a part of and although it was a long day on our feet, seeing things get back to normal is so refreshing! Ross and Emily, thanks for having us be a part of your special day. We wish you both the best!
