The “C” Family

Aaron and Katie are good friends of ours and wanted to do some family portraits now that Caleb is almost one. We don’t do millions of family portraits each year- weddings are our bread and butter, but we always love them when they come along. In a lot of ways, family pictures are nothing like weddings when it comes to how we approach them, but in some ways, they aren’t that different either. That is specifically true when it comes to letting things unfold, and not over directing the way things are done. Sure, we give families a general objective with how to sit, stand, etc, but ultimately, the natural family workings are what make the picture. If we tried setting up every shot to be “perfect”, especially with toddlers, we would go batty. Doing family sessions here and there is refreshing for us, and we love having them sprinkled in here and there.

Aaron, Katie, Caleb, the dogs, and I met up at Green Lane Park for this shoot. We had fun walking around and finding some nice nooks and crannies for shots.
