Reading Engagement Session | Matt and Dana
Yesterday, Christelle and I headed out to the Reading Museum and Arboretum to do Matt and Dana’s engagement session. The forecast was calling for scattered showers, so we scheduled the shoot for early in the day. Normally for engagement sessions, we recommend that we shoot either earlier in the day, or late afternoon/evening. It is typically the best time of day as far as the lighting goes. It allows us to avoid the middle of the day harsh sunlight. We didn’t have to worry about that for this engagement session though because it was overcast the entire morning. A steady cloud cover is actually one of the easiest scenarios to shoot in.
Back to Matt and Dana though. We had a lot of fun working with them, and love the shots we were able to get. We normally encourage couples to bring along a blanket for the grass. It can help make the images look more natural and authentic. Having a couple sit in the damp grass wouldn’t be very nice of us either. The Reading Arboretum offeres a lot of great backdrops, especially in the Spring and Fall. They actually host a lot of weddings in the museum, planetarium and arboretum. It is a great venue option if you are looking to get married in the Reading area. Keep your eyes peeled for a few weddings there in the coming months. Dana and Matt are getting married at the Reading Country Club though. We are very excited to work with them again in a few months for their wedding. For now, here are some of our favorite images from their engagement session.
Thanks Matt and Dana for joining us!
