Stephen and Jessica’s wedding at Diamond Belle Ranch in Washington came at the apex of our busy Summer. We bought our new home (which was an awesome story- I can tell you about it sometime),  flew out to Seattle a couple days later, shot the wedding, and then came home and started caring for two new foster kids. Busy I tell ya. Anyway, Stephen is my cousin. His sister’s wedding was the first we ever shot seven years earlier by the way. So when Stephen was studying abroad, he met a great girl, Jessica, that lived in North Central Washington. They hit it off- obviously. Christelle and I were thrilled when they asked us to do their wedding. We love to travel, and even more, love a good excuse to do so. It’s always fun to shoot a wedding in a completely different setting than you are used to. Stephen and Jess picked a great spot up in the hills of WA. There is a whole lot of nothing, surrounded by, you guessed it, nothing. The closest town was 30 minutes away. No cell coverage. Limited hot water for showers. You get the idea. But on the flip side, there was a beautiful lake, tons of wildlife, awesome scenery as far as the eye could see, and we got to know Jess’s side of the family a bit. It was refreshing. We spent a good part of the week out there getting ready for the wedding, and helping out in whatever way we could. Christelle and I even took the wedding cake to Canada by accident (you can ask me about that one later too). The wedding day came and it was beautiful from start to finish. It was such an honor being a part of their big day.
