Every single year, I go into the “off season” with a list of blog ideas. I say to myself “self, you will have a couple months to do all of these peripheral things, just take care of xyz first”. Well, it seems like each year, stuff comes up, work is busier than expected, and these blogs get pushed to the back burner for another year. So today, I was in the office taking care of client emails, inquiries, bills, and other things and decided to knock one of my blog ideas off the “to-do” list. So today, on the eighth of March, I am knocking out a blog post of my favorite 60 silhouette images from the past year+. Silhouettes are a lot of fun to capture because they allow you to play around with light and create images that really pop. Two of the most important things I have learned over the past 10 years and roughly 300 weddings are that balance and consistency are absolutely essential- couples book us because they love our work and can see themselves in our images. One type of image that we incorporate into each wedding is the silhouette- It’s a change of pace shot that has the ability to be a little more abstract and take your eyes away from the main subject for a second. Over the course of the next few weeks, before our season kicks into full gear, I am going to showcase other types of images that help shape our style. Be on the lookout. For now, enjoy these images! I hope you love them as much as I do!
